HEY! I'M LAUREN....
I’m a proud Canadian, sustainability practitioner, writer/editor, and humanitarian who has spent the last 15 years working in non-profits. I live in London, Ontario with my wonderful husband and our sweet golden retriever, Bella. My husband and I are foodies and avid globetrotters—I own over 100 cookbooks, many of them procured from exotic places we’ve visited. For us, the perfect experience is a good meal, fine wine, beautiful backdrop, and engaging conversation. We want nothing more than to spend as much time as possible with the people we love, and exploring beautiful parts of the world.
For many years though, these moments of joy had to fit within a demanding work schedule and a tight budget. So, a few months ago, I took a leap of faith and started down the exciting path to personal sovereignty.
I'm learning invaluable skills as an entrepreneur, building my business on my own terms, and watching my prosperity grow day by day.
THE PROBLEM THAT LED ME HERE:
As much as I love the important non-profit work that I do, funding can be fickle and expectations are high. Economies worldwide are in the throes of unprecedented uncertainty, and in early 2025, I would learn the hard truth that all my years of hard work, fierce loyalty, and mountain of unpaid overtime would not save me from losing my job.
I’ve long said I wouldn’t be truly happy unless I worked for myself, but I didn’t have any business experience and my risk-averse, play-it-safe upbringing made me, plain and simple, scared to do it. And in truth, had the opportunity come knocking at any other time, I may have run for the hills, or at least come up with an excuse not to take it. But on that tumultuous journey to finding stable work again, I came across an ad that looked a lot like this one to partner with a business in an area I am deeply passionate about: personal development and leadership.
I decided I never again wanted my only source of income in the hands of one employer that could downsize me at any moment. More importantly, I was running out of fuel – and I couldn’t keep giving so much of myself to something that barely paid my bills.
WHAT LIFE LOOKS LIKE NOW:
I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t scary to finally take the leap, but I did, and I haven’t looked back. I’ve been warmly welcomed into a vibrant community of like-minded people who were tired of the 80-hour workweeks, a lack of purpose in their roles, or employers who constantly asked them to do more with less.
Now, I work alongside bright, creative people who support one another to get incredible results. I get best-in-class training and mentorship, and take pride in our offer of award-winning personal development products and retreats, all on my own time. No quotas – I make my own schedule and go at my own pace. This business has meant I now have the capacity to spend more time doing the things I love, and the ability to run my business from anywhere in the world.
